Wolf, part of the Sub-Zero Group, makes high-end cooking appliances recognizable by their red knobs: dual-stacked sealed burner ranges and rangetops, dual-fuel ranges, convection wall ovens, induction cooktops and steam ovens. We work on Wolf gas, dual-fuel and induction cooking appliances, diagnosing by model and serial number. Dual-stacked burners have two flame rings on separate circuits, so we test both the upper and simmer ignition before replacing parts. Genuine Wolf parts are used when available.

Wolf's cooking-only focus
Wolf is the cooking half of the Sub-Zero Group, based in Wisconsin. The group acquired Wolf in 2000, and the two brands are often installed together. Wolf makes ranges (gas, dual-fuel and induction), rangetops, gas, electric and induction cooktops, wall ovens, and convection steam ovens. It doesn't make refrigeration or laundry under its own name.
Wolf's engineering choices are visible on the cooktop. Its signature dual-stacked sealed burner has two tiers of ports: the upper tier delivers high output, while the lower tier alone produces a very low, steady simmer without cycling. Many Wolf ranges and rangetops add infrared charbroilers or griddles. Ovens use dual convection with multiple fans and elements on many models, and electronic controls on the M and E series wall ovens.
That combination of high-output gas and precise electronic ovens means diagnosis covers both mechanical gas ignition and electronic control logic. The model and serial number, on a rating plate inside the oven door frame or behind the kick panel, identify the exact configuration.
Ignition and burner faults
Spark ignition is the most common Wolf cooktop service area. Continuous clicking usually means moisture or residue on an electrode after cleaning or a boil-over, a burner cap that isn't sitting correctly on the dual-stacked base, or a switch that's stuck. Wolf's reignition feature restarts the spark if the flame goes out, which is useful, but it means a stuck switch or wet electrode keeps the module sparking.
A burner that lights only on one tier, or burns unevenly, may have clogged ports in that tier. Don't use a toothpick or wire, which can break off or enlarge ports. Infrared charbroilers and griddles have their own ignition and burner parts, and grease buildup affects both.
Spark modules eventually fail, and a module failure usually affects several burners at once.
Wolf induction and electric cooktops are a different service area: power boards, cooling fans, touch controls and elements on radiant models. Induction error displays often relate to cookware that isn't magnetic, a pan that's too small for the zone, or a cooktop that's overheated because its cooling air is restricted.
Wolf ovens: calibration, convection and steam
Wolf ovens are precise, but sensors age. An oven that runs consistently hot or cold, confirmed with a thermometer, may need sensor replacement, and some models allow the temperature offset to be adjusted from the control panel as described in the use-and-care guide. Convection fan motors, bake and broil elements, door hinges and door gaskets are other common parts. After a self-clean cycle, a door lock or control that was already marginal sometimes fails.
Wolf's convection steam ovens use a water reservoir and steam generator. They need regular descaling, and the oven prompts for it. Dual-fuel ranges have electric ovens, while all-gas Wolf ranges use gas ignition in the oven as well, so the parts list differs depending on which one you own.
Heavy Wolf oven doors put steady load on their hinges, and a door that won't close evenly lets heat escape around the gasket. That shows up as uneven baking, a hot control panel or a longer preheat. Hinges and gaskets are routine replacements.
Desert conditions and Wolf equipment
A high-output Wolf range puts considerable heat into a kitchen, and in summer the range's own cooling fans and the hood both work hard. Fine dust combined with cooking grease clogs hood baffles and filters quickly, so cleaning them regularly preserves airflow and protects the hood's blower.
Valley water at 16 to 18 grains per gallon scales Wolf convection steam ovens fast. Expect descaling prompts more often than the guide's typical interval suggests. Electronic oven controls and spark modules can be disrupted by monsoon power surges.
Owner checks before service
For a clicking burner, turn it off and let it cool. Make sure both the burner base and cap are dry, clean and seated correctly; caps can sit slightly off and keep the spark going. A boil-over may need time to dry out. For a burner that won't light while others work, check that cap and electrode first.
For oven temperature concerns, test with an oven thermometer at the center rack after full preheat. For a steam oven, run descaling if prompted and confirm the reservoir is seated. Turn off power and gas before removing anything beyond grates and caps.
Parts supply and repair decisions
Wolf parts come through the Sub-Zero Group's factory channel. Igniters, switches, spark modules and common oven parts are usually obtainable without much delay, while control boards and specialist components can take longer.
A Wolf range or oven is a long-life appliance built for repair, and replacing one often means cabinet and countertop work. Ignition, sensor, element, fan and hinge repairs are routine. We're an independent repair service, not affiliated with Wolf or the Sub-Zero Group. Warranty work on a unit still under manufacturer warranty should go through Wolf first.
Looking for model numbers, recall notices or warranty registration? Those live on the manufacturer's own site: Wolf official site. We are an independent repair company and are not affiliated with Wolf.
