Are you an authorized Kenmore service provider?

No. We're an independent repair service, not affiliated with Kenmore. If your Kenmore appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, check with Kenmore first; once it's out of warranty, we diagnose it by model and serial number and use genuine OEM parts when they're available.

Can you service a counter-depth refrigerator that fits tightly in my condo kitchen?

Yes. Counter-depth and built-in style models usually roll forward on wheels or rollers for service, so clear the floor in front and move anything stored on top. Share the model and serial when booking, since parts for these units are frequently ordered specifically for the model.

Our shared-house washer smells musty. Is it broken?

Usually not. Front-loaders trap moisture in the door boot and dispenser, and heavy detergent use in shared houses feeds mildew. Run a hot cleaning cycle with a washer cleaner, wipe the gasket and leave the door ajar after loads. Persistent odor alongside draining problems deserves a closer look.

My condo's ventless dryer takes three hours. Is something wrong?

Ventless dryers are slower by design, but very long cycles usually mean a clogged lint filter, a dirty condenser or a blocked drain line. Clean everything the manual lists, including any secondary filter. If drying stays slow, the fan, heat source and moisture sensor can be tested next.

Kenmore Washers

Know where your washer's supply valves are; in an upstairs unit, a slow leak can reach the neighbor below within hours. If water is escaping, close the valves, unplug the machine and tell the HOA or property manager before calling us. Renters should send the landlord the washer's model number and a short description so approval comes through quickly.

Known Kenmore weak point: Lid switch and lid lock faults on Whirlpool-built units

Kenmore Dryers

Dryers here fall into three groups. Stacked dryers in apartments and condos often vent through a short flexible duct that gets crushed when the pair is pushed back into its closet. Some condo owners have switched to ventless condensing or heat-pump dryers, or all-in-one washer-dryers, where an exterior duct was awkward to run. Single-family homes usually have full-size gas or electric dryers venting through a wall or the roof, with longer runs to keep clear.

About Kenmore

Kenmore was Sears' house brand for appliances for most of a century, and the name now belongs to Transformco, the company that bought Sears' assets. Kenmore has never had its own appliance factories. Every Kenmore was built by another manufacturer to Sears' specification: Whirlpool, LG, Frigidaire (Electrolux), Samsung, Panasonic and others, depending on the product and the year.

Houses, Condos, Rentals & Garages

In a shared apartment off Eastern Avenue, roommates might notice the freezer is fine while the lower shelves of the fresh-food side hover around 50 degrees. Stacked groceries are blocking the vents between the compartments, and frost on the rear freezer panel hints at a defrost fault as well. Clearing the vents is the first step; if the frost keeps returning, a defrost heater, sensor or control board is the likely repair.
