Are you an authorized GE service provider?

No. We're an independent repair service, not affiliated with GE. If your GE appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, check with GE first; once it's out of warranty, we diagnose it by model and serial number and use genuine OEM parts when they're available.

A coil burner on my stove sparks when I turn it on. Is it safe to use?

No. Sparking usually means a burned receptacle or a damaged element terminal, and continued use can scorch the wiring under the cooktop. Turn the burner off, switch off the breaker if sparks continue and avoid that burner until it's repaired. Replacing the receptacle and element together is common.

Can you repair a pro-style dual-fuel range in a remodeled kitchen?

Yes. Dual-fuel ranges combine a gas cooktop with an electric oven, so the diagnosis covers igniters, burner valves, elements and electronic controls. Parts are often specific to the brand and model, so share the model and serial early to confirm availability before the visit.

My replacement fridge barely fits my older kitchen. Could that cause problems?

Yes. Refrigerators shed heat through vents and coils, and an alcove sized for an older model may leave too little room at the top, sides or back. The compressor then runs longer and the fresh-food section warms. Check the installation guide's clearances before assuming a part has failed.

GE Appliances in Paradise Homes

GE Ranges

Range installations here depend heavily on the home. Apartments typically have freestanding electric ranges owned by the property. Updated condos may have slide-in electric or induction ranges sitting flush with the countertops, sometimes needing trim removed before they can be pulled forward. Single-family homes commonly have freestanding gas ranges hooked up through flexible connectors, and a remodeled kitchen may hold a pro-style dual-fuel range, which weighs considerably more and needs care to move.

GE Refrigerators

In a compact condo kitchen, a refrigerator's problem is often confinement rather than dust: boxed in by cabinets, it runs long cycles because its heat has nowhere to go. In houses, desert dust coats condenser coils as it does anywhere in the valley, and a garage unit fights summer heat on top of that. Shared apartments add their own wear, with doors opened constantly and shelves packed so tightly that cold air from the freezer can't circulate into the fresh-food section.

About GE

GE Appliances, now owned by Haier but still headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, sells under several names: GE, GE Profile, Café, Monogram and the budget Hotpoint line. They share a parts system and many components, but they aren't one design. A builder-grade GE range in a rental and a Café dual-fuel range in a custom home have different controls, ignition and electronics. The first step in any GE repair is pinning down which line and generation is in front of you.

Houses, Condos, Rentals & Garages

Landlords managing several units can bundle stove repairs into a single visit when tenants report problems together, which saves scheduling time for everyone. Tenants should note which burner fails and on what setting. Look for the model tag along the drawer opening or beneath the hinged cooktop. If anything smells like gas, leave the unit and call Southwest Gas before calling us.
