Are you an authorized Maytag service provider?

No. We're an independent repair service, not affiliated with Maytag. If your Maytag appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, check with Maytag first; once it's out of warranty, we diagnose it by model and serial number and use genuine OEM parts when they're available.

How often should a dryer vent be cleaned in a two-story Summerlin home?

Clean the lint screen after every load, and have the full vent run inspected and cleaned regularly, typically at least once a year, more often for long runs or heavy use. Wind-blown dust in western Summerlin can speed up blockages. Look at the outside hood too, so a stuck flap is not trapping lint.

Can you repair a panel-ready dishwasher without damaging the cabinet panel?

Yes. Integrated dishwashers are designed to be serviced with the panel in place or removed carefully. The technician diagnoses the problem, explains it and quotes the price before beginning any repair. Panel hardware is set aside and reinstalled once the repair is done.

My wall oven stopped working after a self-clean cycle. What happened?

Self-clean runs the oven at very high temperature, which can trip a thermal fuse or damage the door lock or control board. Leave it off rather than repeatedly resetting the breaker, and have a technician test those parts. Note any error code shown before the oven shut down.

Maytag Appliances in Summerlin Homes

Maytag Dishwashers

Panel-ready and integrated dishwashers are frequent in larger homes in The Ridges, Red Rock Country Club and The Cliffs. They hide their control panels on the top edge of the door, and the decorative panel adds weight that strains door springs and hinge cables over time. A door that drops open hard or will not stay partly open often points to those parts rather than the dishwasher itself, and it is a repair that keeps the custom panel in place.

Known Maytag weak point: Drain pump and filter clogs

Maytag Oven / Ranges

Gas wall ovens, more common in some semi-custom homes, rely on a glow-bar igniter that weakens with age. A weak igniter still glows but may not open the gas valve, so the oven heats slowly or not at all. Electric ovens more often lose a bake or broil element, which sometimes shows a visible blister or break. Unplug the oven or switch off the breaker before looking inside, and never test gas components yourself.

About Maytag

Maytag built its reputation as an independent Iowa company, but Whirlpool bought it in 2006, and Maytag appliances sold since then are built on Whirlpool platforms. A current Maytag top-load washer shares its drive system, lid lock and pump with Whirlpool and Amana models of the same generation. Many Maytag refrigerators, dishwashers and ranges are close relatives of Whirlpool units, with Maytag-specific styling, cycles and heavier-duty marketing.

Houses, Condos, Rentals & Garages

Many newer homes in 89135 and 89138 place the laundry upstairs or in the middle of the house, which can mean a long vent path through walls and the attic to a roof or side-wall outlet. Every bend adds resistance, and lint settles wherever the air slows. When the exhaust cannot escape, the dryer runs hot, drying times stretch and safety parts like the thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat eventually trip. Failure to clean dryers is a leading factor in home dryer fires.
