Are you an authorized Thor service provider?

No. We're an independent repair service, not affiliated with Thor. If your Thor appliance is still under the manufacturer's warranty, check with Thor first; once it's out of warranty, we diagnose it by model and serial number and use genuine OEM parts when they're available.

Can you install a new dishwasher in an older cabinet opening?

We focus on repair, but when we fix a dishwasher we check the mounting, drain hose routing and water connection. If the opening is too tight for the unit, the technician will explain what is causing the problem so it can be corrected.

Why does the igniter in my gas oven glow orange without the burner ever catching? What's wrong?

Often the igniter is weak: it glows but no longer pulls enough current to open the gas valve. Replacing it usually solves the problem. A technician will confirm that by testing the igniter's amperage and the valve before ordering the part.

Why is my over-the-range microwave fan so loud?

Grease and dust buildup on the fan blades or filters is a frequent reason, along with worn fan motor bearings. Clean the grease filters first. If the noise continues, the fan motor may need replacement, which a technician can do while the unit is down.

Thor Oven / Ranges

An oven that will not heat is usually missing one of a few parts. In electric ovens, the bake or broil element can burn out and often shows a visible blister or break. In gas ovens, a weak igniter may glow orange but not draw enough current to open the gas valve, so the burner never lights. A technician tests the element, igniter, safety valve and sensor to pin down the cause rather than guessing.

Thor Microwaves

Older 89030 kitchens may have a countertop microwave sitting wherever there is an outlet, sometimes sharing a circuit with a toaster or coffee maker. If the microwave trips a breaker or shuts off mid-cycle, the circuit may be overloaded rather than the microwave failing. Try running it alone before booking a repair. A countertop unit that sparks, arcs or stops heating is often cheaper to replace than repair, and the technician will say so.

Before you call, clean the filter at the bottom of the tub, make sure the garbage disposal knockout plug was removed if a disposal is attached, and confirm that the sink drain is clear. If water stays in the tub, scoop it out with a cup and towel before the visit so the technician can get straight to the pump. Have the model number ready from the label on the door edge.
