Houses, Condos, Rentals & Garages
89178 is the heart of Mountain's Edge, the master-planned community in the southwest valley where construction began in 2004 and around 12,500 homes had been built by the end of 2025. Exploration Peak Park, the hill with walking trails and views across the valley, is its signature landmark. ProFix Las Vegas repairs refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ranges, ovens and microwaves throughout the ZIP, with same-day appointments available when booked early.

Upstairs Laundry and Long Vent Runs
Two-story homes dominate many Mountain's Edge neighborhoods, and upstairs laundry rooms are common in this generation of floor plans. That arrangement is convenient until something leaks. A washer drain pan with a drain line, braided supply hoses and an easy-to-reach shutoff are worth confirming, and a washer that has started walking during the spin cycle should be leveled or serviced before it pulls a hose free.
Upstairs dryers often vent through a long run that goes up to the roof or across the attic. Lint builds up at every bend and at the roof cap, and the dryer reacts by taking longer, running hotter and eventually blowing its thermal fuse. If drying times have crept up, have the vent cleaned before replacing parts.
One detail worth checking on any dryer vent that ends at the roof or a wall: the termination should have a damper flap, not a screen. Building codes prohibit screens on dryer exhaust outlets because lint mats on them quickly and blocks airflow. If someone added a bird screen over your vent cap, it may be choking the dryer.
Desert-Edge Dust and Summer Garages
Mountain's Edge sits near the edge of open desert, and dust storms and construction add fine particulates to the air. Refrigerator condenser coils and range-hood filters load up faster here than in older, more established neighborhoods.
Garages hold the overflow freezer and the second fridge for many families. In July and August, garage temperatures can exceed the ambient range those appliances were designed for. A unit labeled for garage use, or one with a T or ST climate class, handles the heat better than a standard indoor model.
Large households run their laundry hard. Overloading a washer, especially a front-loader, strains the drum bearings and suspension, and a roaring noise during spin is often the first sign that bearings are wearing. Loads that fill the drum loosely, rather than packed tight, wash better and save the machine.
HOA Communities and Scheduling
Mountain's Edge has a master association plus many smaller gated neighborhoods. Put your gate code or instructions in the booking so the technician can get to your door. Water comes from the Las Vegas Valley Water District and is very hard, so ice makers and dishwashers benefit from regular filter changes and descaling.
We repair all major brands, and every repair includes a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.
